Letter From Courtney

LETTER READ BY COURTNEY PELICAN
Whitney Leigh,

You are my precious treasure, but I call you my best friend.  I am a lucky person to be blessed with a best friend like you.  People like you don't come around often.

We have been through so much together, like the first day of driver's ed.  We were terrified to drive to Lake Charles, but we did it.

I feel so lucky that God blessed us with Hayden, because now we have a part of you.  Even though I can't see you, I know you are right beside me.  Remember, I will always love you like a sister.

LIFE IS SHORT

They say it take a minute to find a special person,
An hour to appreciate them,
A day to love them,
But then an entire life to forget them.

Josh Evans, Whitney, Justin Spears..."Brothers"

LETTER FROM JOSH EVANS

"I want to say a few things so here goes...  I'm Whitney and Skyler's 'big brother', even though you couldn't tell by skin tone." LOL

"Momma Dee adopted me into their family, but it doesn't make a difference; I love them like sisters the way I believe God intended me to love and care about them".

"So as I was saying before, being a big brother... Man, it is so hard, but with Whitney it was always easy, because she always had that big ole pretty, white smile on.  Or when she laughed, it was so funny, she made me laugh".

"When me and Whitney got into an argument, or we said something wrong to each other, I was always there to make sure to tell her I loved her, because she sure wasn't going to say it first!  LOL!  Too much pride and hard-headedness, but I loved her for it".

"Whitney was the best friend and sister a person could ask for.  She stood up for her friends and family; she wasn't scared of nothin' or anybody".

"Whitney always wanted the best for everyone and I want all of you to know that Whitney loved all of you".

"And Hayden, don't worry, your mom is here with you and always will be.  And Uncle Josh will tell you all of the great things about your mom.  Even when you're wondering, "What's wrong with this picture?  He can't be my uncle, he looks nothing like me!"  but, I love you anyways, little man".

"Whitney, you brought happiness into my life and you still do.  You know, I think I can truly say I've been touched by an angel.  Whitney, we all love you".

Your friend & big brother,
Josh Evans

Poem by Hannah Davis, Age 15

POEM BY HANNAH DAVIS

REMEMBER...

Everyday we loose the people that we love,
And we cry in their memory to help us get over the pain.

She was such a young soul
Whose life was hard.
You'd think out of everything someone goes through,
Such a thing as death does not exist.

She laid in a bed in a deep, hard sleep
Through her last days.
I'm sure she didn't feel much pain when she left us.

Now she looks down from heaven and smiles at us with that pretty face.
She smiles at the love of her life, her son, Hayden Lee.

She might be gone, but her spirit and her love lives on in him.

It's hard to let the one you love the most go,
But we must rely on the plans of God.

So don't think of her as being lost or sad at such tragic circumstance.
Be happy because she is in a better place and she will always be with us.

We must always have her in our hearts and think of the ways she was,
Because so many things came out of her.

We must always REMEMBER...
