When I first found out I was pregnant, my mom bought a Ladybug bank for the baby. Steve and I put money in it until we filled it up atleast 3 times. The day I went into the hospital with Shannon, it started snowing. It hadn't snowed all winter. It was very cold, the weeks following Shannon's death. Two weeks after we burried her, I was getting out of the shower, and there, on the counter, in the dead of winter, was a ladybug.
I knew it was Shannon. I called Steve in to look at it. Another two weeks passed, and I was doing the same thing. Getting out of the shower, and there, on the counter, still in the dead of winter, sat another ladybug. Well I knew for sure that was her this time! How many ladybug's have you seen in one month, let alone in the middle of snow storms?
A couple more weeks had passed. Not snowing out anymore, but still frigid and Steve called me outside one day. There, next to him, sat a ladybug.
The weather started to break, it had started to seem what we thought was nicer out, but still cold. We went to her grave, as we do once a week. Steve was picking up the big rcoks and throwing them aside. As he picked up a rock, underneath it lied a lady bug. I was taking her St. Patrick's Day gift. As I put it into the ground the lady bug flew, to it and landed right on it.
I was telling my friend, who's daughter passed one year before, my ladybug story. The next day I had seen him. We were talking at our cars. As we talked a ladybug flew on the hood of my car. I screamed to him "See it's her, she must like you!"
Two days ago, I was in the kitchen, cleaning, I seen something on the floor, I knelt down, and there sat a ladybug . . .
I believe angels take the form of anything they love, and I believe Shannon comes to visit us. I know now, how much our angel must love ladybugs.
I have a tatto I got in memory of Shannon. It is about the size of a quarter, and did not show up well when I tried to take a picture. It is a ladybug with a halo. I recieved a beautiful anklet from a woman I used to work with. It has an "S" in diamonds with a heart next to it.
My sister, Sarah, bought this fall ladybug for Shannon. I put it at her grave.
