Leilah passed away shortly after her birth Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010. She was born at 6:58 p.m., and she died at 7:22 p.m. at St. Vincent Women’s Hospital. She weighed 2 pounds and was 13.1 inches long. Leilah is the daughter of Jared Hopkins and Syawn (Cook) Hopkins, Kokomo.
She is survived by her parents; two brothers, Kaleb and Logan Hopkins; three sisters, Jada and Brittny Hopkins, all of Kokomo, and Mary Hopkins Merrifield and her husband Jason, Frankfort; her maternal grandparents, Arnold “Arnie” and Pam Cook, Kokomo; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Elizabeth Hopkins, Missouri; four uncles; six aunts; 11 cousins; and many great aunts, uncles and family members.
Even though Leilah’s life was cut short, she is loved and deeply missed by many friends and family members until she is awoken in the resurrection where, as Revelation 21:4 says, there will be no more sickness, death, tears, and pain.
