It does bring some comfort to know that in death, Angie was able to give the Gift of Life to others. Me da algun consuelo el saber que Angie con su muerte, pudo dar un regalo de vida a otros.

I do not have any details of the recipients, but I remember since Angie's blood type was so rare, it was difficult finding recipients.  Yo no tengo ningun detalle de los donados, pero yo recuerdo que el tipo de sangre de Angie era algo raro y por tanto muy dificil encontrar personas compatibles con su sangre.

 Information I have so far:  La informacion que yo tengo es esta: 

Liver - 58 man      Higado - 58 hombre

1 Kidney/Pancreas - 32 female     Un riñon/pancreas - mujer

1 Kidney - 38 Female      Un riñon - 38 mujer

 

I hope to receive a letter from the recipients one day.

I received a letter today with some more information about the recipients of Angie's gift.  Yo he recivido una carta con un poco mas de informacion acerca de los que recibieron el transplante.

Angie's liver was transplanted into a 58 year-old gentleman from New Jersey. His liver disease was caused by long term liver disease. He had been disabled due to his illness. His new liver is functioning well and he is expected to make a complete recovery. El higado de Angie fue trasplantado a un hombre de 58 años de New Jersey. Su enfermedad del higado fue causada por largo tiempo. El estuvo desabilitado por su enfermedad. Su nuevo higado esta funcionando muy bien y se espera que se recupere pronto.

A 32 year-old woman from New Jersey is the recipient of one of Angie's kidneys and her pancreas. She is a stay at home mom but had been disabled due to her disease. The cause of her kidney failure was diabetes. The transplant center reported that she is doing well. Una mujer de 32 años de New Jersey fue la que recibio uno de los riñones y el pancrea de Angie. Ella es una ama de casa, pero esta desabilitada desde su enfermedad la causa que ella perdiera su riñon fue la diabetis, el centro de trasplantes informo que ella esta mejorando.

Her other kidney was transplanted into a 38 year-old mother of one child from North Carolina. She works as a teacher. She was in need of a kidney transplant due to the devastating effects of kidney disease. Her new kidney is functioning well and she is expected to make a complete recovery. El otro riñon fue trasplantado a una madre de 38 años con un niñ o de North Carolina. Ella trabaja como maestra, y estaba necesitando el riñon por devastadora enfermedad del riñon. Su nuevo riñon esta funcionando bien y se espera una completa recuperacion.
