This online memorial was created in loving memory of Lawrence Vargas, whose life story is told throughout this memorial website.  VARGAS -- Lawrence Charles Vargas, "Hito", "Lorenzo", was called to heaven on July 13, 2008. Born on February 24, 1985, the Lord lent him to us for 23 years. He is the beloved son of Lawrence and Terry Vargas; and big brother to David Edmund who always called Lawrence, "Brother". He was blessed with the love of his grandmother, Rose Aguirre; godparents Debbie Vargas, Ruben Aguirre, and Mario Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Lawrence Charles joins his grandparents, Edmund Aguirre and David and Mary Vargas in heaven. Lawrence prided himself in his work with the Albuquerque Animal Control Center. Lawrence Charles was a member of Holy Rosary Church. He loved his music, motorcycles, sports, and his life here on Earth. A 2003 West Mesa graduate, he was an accomplished athlete in basketball and baseball. An avid sports fan, he loved those Bulls and Broncos. He was a published artist with his father. Lawrence Charles loved his family, was loyal to his friends and had a compassionate, caring heart. His sense of humor and carefree spirit was a joy to all who knew him. Please join his family in the celebration of his life. Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 16th, 2008, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Dr. NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m by his mother, Terry. Final visitation will be Thursday, July 17, 2008, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at the church, with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Joel Garner. Pallbearers will be David Edmund Vargas, Anthony Montoya, Marty Vargas, Ruben Aguirre, Jason Baca and Timmy Jones. Honorary Pallbearers will be Raymond Tafoya, Brian Vargas, Shawn Vargas, Eddie Aguirre Jr., Andrew Montoya, Ruben A. Aguirre, and all of his cousins, uncles, and friends. Arrangements by: Gabaldon Mortuary 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW 243-7861

VARGAS -- Lawrence Charles "Lorenzo" Someday we'll experience the joy of being a family again. Lawrence Charles, please ask Jesus to send us the strength and faith to carry on...until then. Love, Mom, Dad and 'Brother' LOVE NEVER ENDS 1Cor13:8   Published on: Tue July 13, 2010

As God lent Lawrence Charles to Lawrence and Terry, He trusted them to be great parents and that they were and continue to be.  Now they must cradle the memories of their firstborn son, remembering how blessed they are to have been chosen by God to take care of the two boys God gave them.  God Bless the Vargas family.

In Loving Memory--"SHOES-FOR-KIDS"

The Albuquerque.Area Firefighters’ Random Acts, a non-profit organization, is sponsoring a fundraiser for shoes in memory of Lawrence Charles Vargas who was  an aspiring firefighter.  Lawrence Charles’ life reflected random acts of love, kindness and compassion.  He loved his ‘Jordans’ (basketball shoes), often sharing shoes with others. Lawrence Charles and his family would be honored to have  shoes given to children in need, through funds raised in this project.  NEXT PROJECT:  Shoes for kids at Lawrence's elementary school, Lew Wallace!

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk by your side
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When your face is before me
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

(Chorus next)
Surrounded by your glory
What did his heart feel?
Did he dance for you Jesus? (I think he danced for Jesus)
Or in awe of You be still?
Did he stand in HIS presence?
Or to his knees did he fall?
Did he sing hallelujah?
Was he able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

I can only imagine when that day comes
When I find myself standing in the Son
I can only imagine when all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you
I can only imagine
I can only imagine

(chorus 2x)(ad-lib)

I can only imagine (4x)
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship you
I can only imagine.
