VARGAS -- Lawrence Charles Vargas, "Hito", "Lorenzo", was called to heaven on July 13, 2008. Born on February 24, 1985, the Lord lent him to us for 23 years. He is the beloved son of Lawrence and Terry Vargas; and big brother to David Edmund who always called Lawrence, "Brother". He was blessed with the love of his grandmother, Rose Aguirre; godparents Debbie Vargas, Ruben Aguirre, and Mario Martinez; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Lawrence Charles joins his grandparents, Edmund Aguirre and David and Mary Vargas in heaven. Lawrence prided himself in his work with the Albuquerque Animal Control Center. Lawrence Charles was a member of Holy Rosary Church. He loved his music, motorcycles, sports, and his life here on Earth. A 2003 West Mesa graduate, he was an accomplished athlete in basketball and baseball. An avid sports fan, he loved those Bulls and Broncos. He was a published artist with his father. Lawrence Charles loved his family, was loyal to his friends and had a compassionate, caring heart. His sense of humor and carefree spirit was a joy to all who knew him. Please join his family in the celebration of his life. As God lent Lawrence Charles to Lawrence and Terry, He trusted them to be great parents and that they were and continue to be. Now they must cradle the memories of their firstborn son, remembering how blessed they are to have been chosen by God to take care of the two boys God gave them. God Bless the Vargas family.
In Loving Memory--
The Albuquerque.Area Firefighters’ Random Acts, a non-profit organization, is sponsoring a fundraiser for shoes in memory of Lawrence Charles Vargas who was an aspiring firefighter. Lawrence Charles’ life reflected random acts of love, kindness and compassion. He loved his ‘Jordans’ (basketball shoes), often sharing shoes with others. Lawrence Charles and his family would be honored to have shoes given to children in need, through funds raised in this project.
