This online memorial was created in loving memory of Joshua Heyer. Please sign Joshua's guest book and let us know you came to visit.
Joshua was born September 26, 1996. He has two older brothers, Erik and Westley, from his father, Jeffrey. Joshua was and is forever my first born. I gave my heart away that day to my precious little boy. He was always in motion. Even as a baby he rocked his own seat back and forth. Jumping up and down as he played games (He loved the Zelda games from Nintendo), watched TV, and even did his homework. :) He soon became big brother to Micah, Jacob, and baby sister Lynnie. He loved to explore and travel. He loved swimming and having fun. He loved family and traditions. He was always the center of attention in our household. He is a Christian and is now experiencing true joy with our Lord in eternity.
On July 20, 2007 Joshua went swimming with his brother at a little creek/spillway where all the neighbor kids play and swim. Micah had lagged behind and didn't see Joshua go into the water. The creek was very high that day with rushing water. We found out later they released water from a reservoir miles away. We think Joshua may have hit his head fairly quickly. By the time Micah caught up he saw Joshua unconsious as he floated down towards the river. There was nothing Micah could do but send the two friends who were also there to go get help and then just wait. Those moments waiting for help were torture for our dear little Micah as he screamed Joshua's name and cried for his brother unable to do anything. We have let him know how proud we are of him for not jumping in the high water to try to save his brother. We could have lost 2 boys that day.
Our hearts break every day thinking about you, Joshua, and how much we miss you. We had the privalege of spending almost 11 years with you present here in our lives. Now we must find a way to live here on Earth without you...looking forward to the day we will be reunited with you again in Heaven. We love you and miss you buddy.
